Engadget reported;
"executives Ferdinand Piech and Martin Winterkorn both confirmed that the car will be produced in small numbers, first for Germany and later coming to the US and China. It's powered by a diesel engine with less than one liter of displacement, managing 313mpg combined (that's Imperial, 260mpg using American units) putting out just 48hp and thankfully assisted by a 27hp electric motor. "
313 MILES PER GALLON.
What.
That's awesome.
I love German engineering, bring on more.

The future.
I won't love the price, I'm afraid.
Holy crap.... it would pay for itself in a year.
they almost look like the motorcycles from tron.
Or 0 mpg in snow.
and it looks so cool
It looks like the future.
Looks like it would be a pain in the butt to change the rear tires, but I think if I could afford a car like this I could probably pay people to do that.
Vw is my favourite make of car. This one looks a little too futuristic for me, but 313 miles a gallon would be so nice, probably only fill the tank once a month. Followed.
i did a post on this a while back, hopefully it makes production! i wouldn't buy it, but the technology is amazing
I. Want. That. Damn. Car.
There are so many laws and restrictions in the industry. There is no way US will EVER see a car like this. We could have a 100mpg car right now if it wasnt for all the diesel taxes in the US right now, its no longer cost efficient to make them for us.
looks futuristic
Wow... that's crazy impressive.
Anything that saves a lot on gas is a big 1+ for me :D
Hmmm...I like it, but the back end looks so weird.
Looks so futuristic and cool
awesome :D
I can see this happening. Looks and does awesome.
I'd drive that. It looks like a light cycle
and its a coupe? lol
Insane. LIKE!

Why the wheel covers? Good luck changing your tires. They're going to keep making cars nowadays so you can't even service the simplest part by yourself, then charge you a bunch when they do it.
300 miles per gallon? Wish I had that right now.. lol
